§ 19-72. Leases and concessions.

  • (a)

    The city manager or his designee is hereby empowered to lease Lockhart and Fort Lauderdale Stadiums for periods not exceeding fifteen (15) days, such leases to be executed by the city manager or his designee on forms approved by the city attorney.

    (b)

    The director of the parks and recreation department or his designee is hereby authorized to issue permits for the use of Lockhart and Fort Lauderdale Stadiums for periods not exceeding three (3) days for events which meet the following conditions:

    (1)

    The general public is not invited to the event; or

    (2)

    No more than two thousand (2,000) person will be in attendance; and

    (3)

    No alteration of the stadiums are to be made.

    The form of permit shall be approved by the city attorney.

    (c)

    The grant of concessions and concession rights pertaining to Lockhart and Fort Lauderdale Stadiums to private persons for periods exceeding one (1) year shall be accomplished by either the formal bid procedure established by section 8.09 of the city charter or by negotiation. The determination as to whether a concession is to be granted by formal bid procedure or negotiation shall be made by the city commission.
