§ 18-7. Vacant dwellings or buildings: nuisances specified.

  • It is declared unlawful and a public nuisance for any owner of any property in this city to maintain such property or to permit such property to be maintained in such a manner that any one (1) or more of the conditions described in the following subsections are found to exist:

    (a)

    Vacant and unoccupied building, or portion thereof, whose doors, windows, or other openings are broken, missing or unsecured, so as to allow access to the interior; or

    (b)

    Vacant and unoccupied building, or portion thereof, whose doors, windows, or other openings are secured by boarding or otherwise secured by a means other than the conventional method used in the original construction and design of the structure, which there is no current and valid boarding certificate as required by this article; or

    (c)

    Vacant and unoccupied building, or portion thereof, whose doors, windows, or other openings are secured by boarding or otherwise secure by a means other than the conventional method used in the original construction and design of the structure which is not secured in compliance with this article.
