§ 18-6. Abatement; abandoned or derelict motor vehicles or vessels.

(a)

If the abandoned or derelict motor vehicle or vessel is not removed within the time specified in the notice, and if the violation has not been contested, the director may refer the case to the special magistrate as a violation of this article pursuant to Chapter 11, and/or the director may authorize the removal of the motor vehicle or vessel.

(b)

Assessed costs associated with the removal of any motor vehicle or vessel in violation of this article shall be levied against the owner of the motor vehicle or vessel.
