§ 9-313. Numbering display requirements.

  • (a)

    Premises identification. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers placed in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. These numbers shall contrast with their background. Address numbers shall be arabic numerals or alphabet letters.

    (b)

    Such signs or other marking methods shall have numbers no less than four (4) inches in height for residential buildings and at least eight (8) inches in height for all other buildings and shall not exceed two (2) square feet in area. These numbers shall be kept free of obstructions to visibility.

    (c)

    The assigned street number of all structures and buildings located on navigable waterways and within the city shall be displayed on the property, so as to be plainly visible from the adjacent navigable waterway. The number shall contrast with the background and not be blocked by vessels or landscaping.
