§ 9-158. Insurance.

(a)

All house-moving contractors and house transporters shall be required to furnish and maintain liability insurance with amounts of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00)/three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) covering personal injury and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) covering property damage. The original policies together with a receipt showing payment in full of the premium for such policies shall be deposited with the building inspector.

(b)

House-moving contractors and/or house transporters operating under a certificate of public convenience and necessity issued by the public service commission who have posted insurance with such commission in the amounts set forth in subsection (a) above are exempt from compliance with subsection (a), provided that a certificate evidencing such insurance is filed with the building inspector.
