§ 9-157. Bond.
(a)
Before any house-moving contractor or house transporter shall undertake to move a house or other building from one (1) location in the city to another location within the city, or from a location in the city to a location outside the city, or from a location outside the city to a location within the city, he shall deposit with the chief building inspector of the city a surety bond in the amount of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500.00), conditioned as provided in this section, and shall keep same in full force and effect so long as he holds a house-moving contractor's license. The premium upon such bond shall be paid annually and such bond shall be kept in full force and effect. Such bond shall be conditioned that the house-moving contractor or house transporter will complete his contract with the owner for the moving of the house and will move same to the designated location.
(b)
Such bond will be required only for a house-moving contractor or transporter who is not the holder of the appropriate certificate or permit issued by the state public service commission pursuant to law.
