§ 28-201. Purpose.

  • It is the purpose of this article to:

    (a)

    Establish limitations and prohibitions on the quantity and quality of wastewater which may be lawfully discharged into the WWF.

    (b)

    Establish uniform rules and regulations pertaining to users of the WWF.

    (c)

    Prevent the introduction of pollutants into the WWF that will interfere with its operation.

    (d)

    Prevent the introduction of pollutants into the WWF that will pass through the WWF, inadequately treated, or otherwise be incompatible with operation of the WWF.

    (e)

    Protect both WWF personnel and the general public who may be affected by wastewater and sludge.

    (f)

    Enable the city to comply with its national pollutant discharge elimination system permit conditions, sludge use and disposal requirements, and any other federal or state laws to which the wastewater treatment facilities are subject, including but not limited to the Clean Water Act of 1987, F.S. ch. 403, and F.A.C. ch. 62-625.

    (g)

    Improve the opportunity to reuse reclaimed water, residuals and industrial wastewaters and sludges.

    (h)

    Provide for equitable distribution of the cost of operation, maintenance and improvement of the WWF.
