§ 15-234. Economic incentive programs application; program administration and approval process.

(a)

The city's sustainable development department shall administer the incentive program. Applications should be submitted to the city's sustainable development director. All economic incentive awards shall be approved by the city commission.

(b)

The terms of an economic incentive award shall be incorporated into an agreement, approved by the office of the city attorney, and executed by the company and the city. Every agreement shall contain the following statement: "This agreement is not a general obligation of the City of Fort Lauderdale. Payment of tax refunds are conditioned on and subject to specific annual appropriations by the city commission of moneys sufficient to pay the amounts authorized under the city's economic development incentive program."
