§ 13-86. Marking of vehicles.

  • Any vehicle used for transporting any explosives or flammable liquids as a cargo or part of a cargo upon the highway shall be marked or placarded on each side and the rear with the word "explosives" in letters not less than eight (8) inches high, or there shall be displayed on the rear of such vehicle a red flag not less than twenty-four (24) inches square marked with the word "danger" in white letters six (6) inches high. Every such vehicle shall be equipped with not less than two (2) fire extinguishers, filled and ready for immediate use, and placed at a convenient point on the vehicle so used. The fire inspection division is hereby authorized to promulgate such additional rules and regulations governing the transportation of explosives and other dangerous articles by vehicles upon the public streets as it shall deem advisable for the protection of the public, and all such rules and regulations shall have the full force and effect of law.
