§ 13-64. Firefighter service key boxes required.

(a)

All new and existing buildings with elevators, which have firefighter service capabilities, shall install and maintain a key box for the purpose of maintaining the necessary keys for the operation of all of the elevators in the building.

(b)

Each building shall maintain at least one (1) key box. The location and type of key box shall be approved by the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue department.

(c)

Once approved, the key box shall not be changed in any manner without the prior written approval of the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue department.
