§ 13-31. Closing buildings in violation of fire code.

Whenever, in the opinion of the fire chief or his representative, there exists a violation
of any of the provisions of this chapter or, in his opinion, a hazardous condition
exists, the fire chief or his representative, shall have the power and authority,
after reasonable notice to close the building or place where such violation exists
until such time as the violation or condition has been corrected and, in the opinion
of the fire chief or his representative, such building is safe for use by the public.
